About CMAS

Classical Martial Arts Society

Over many years Martial Arts Organisations have used their group power to exam and grade Martial Arts Players. Many of these organisations offer high standards for their member’s promotion in their systems but not all. Some it is not what you know but whom you know. Martial Arts Politics play an important part in the promotion of higher grades, also their standards maybe high but can stifle improvisation and new ideas.

The CMAS is not a Martial Arts Association; it is an independent Examination Board.

So how does it work?

  1. We concentrate on Traditional Martial Arts
  2. We do not offer competitive grades this should be left to organisations who offer competition
  3. We offer Standard Syllabuses but prefer each candidate to present their own syllabus which will be scrutinised by our Examination Board
  4. All Examinations are done by using a Camcorder or similar equipment, it can be sent by DVD Disc or using YouTube or DailyMotion
  5. You pay a one off Examination Fee for each grade you wish to apply for. If you fail you can retake as many times until you pass
  6. The Examination Board consists of High Grade Martial Arts Practitioners
  7. On passing your Exam you will be issued with a Certificate there will be no further charges
